Books in Homes Australia is a charitable foundation that provides books-of-choice to children living in remote, disadvantaged and low socio-economic circumstances, ensuring crucial early literacy engagement and the development of reading skills needed for lifelong achievement.
The Books in Homes Primary Program that we sponsor typically runs in primary schools with students aged 5-12 years old. The Primary Program operates in Terms 1, 2 and 4.
Key Components
The key components of the Primary Program are:

To motivate families and students to view reading as an “everyday” activity

To support primary school children, living in remote and low socio-economic areas, by giving them equal access to books-of-choice as their more advantaged peers

WIRES is providing significant national support for hundreds of projects to assist with wildlife rescue and rehabilitation across Australia and working nationally with strategic partners to support the long-term recovery of wildlife habitat and the long-term preservation of native species in the wild.
